removing a server object

I am trying to remove a server object from active
directory and here is the error message that I receive.

Object SERVER is a container and contains other objects.
are you sure you want to delete object SERVER and the
other objects it contains?

This server has been off the network for three months.
Does anyone know if it is safe to remove this server?

I don't know how you define server, but do you mean Domain Controller
(Server that had running Active Directory) Any how take a look at the

thanks for the response and article. I will take a look at
it. No, the server was never a domain controller.

then you should just be available to delete the particular server from AD
Users and Computers snpain.
