remove a program

my dell came with a package from earthlink and i tried to unistall as i use another isp but the taskbar still is there and my adware still shows earthlink how do i get this out do i need to reinstall am on xp pro anty help or advice greatly appreciated
 
If you are comfortable with editing the registry you can delete all references to it. Only do this if you are familiar with it and back it up first incase you have any problems
