Remote Installation Services

I built a RIS server put my image on there from CD for
windows 2000. I used ris to install the OS on a pc. I
added all the programs to that PC I wanted and am now
using RIPREP to send the custom image back up to the
server. BUT every time I try this it says there is no CD
image on my RIS server. So I put the 2000 image from the
cd back on the ris server but it still says there is none
there. What am I doing wrong. I looked at the image and
under image type it says FLAT. The image i installed was
from the windows 2000 CD.

Phil,

When you are running the Windows Updates, you are altering the kerne
version number. Windows 2000 RIS needs to see the same Kernel, or i
gripes about this.

There are updates to RIS to prevent this from happening, but it wa
sporadic for me.

The easiest answer is to build a 2003 RIS server. I have had no grei
from RIS. Well...aside from a problem with RIS and Intel NICs.

E-mail me, and I can help you troubleshoot further.
