Remote Desktop

Have 3 PCs (one running as server with Windows 2000) and 2 PCs with XP Pro
all connected by wireless Linksys Router. Trying to set up remote desktop and
encountering problems. Using a laptop (with XP Pro) I am able to connect to
the PC everytime remotely while I am within my wireless network using the
name of the PC. However, when I am outside my wireless network, I cannot
connect using the PC name or the IP address. During recent trip out of town I
was not able to connect and had someone reboot my PC & give me the IP Address
and I was able to connect from a wireless network 6 states away, but I logged
out, then 1 minute later tried to loag back in and it would not work. When I
returned home, the IP address was the same as when I was out of town; I
connected using the PC name, but could not connect using the IP address.
Called Linksys and comcast and they both tested their equipment and claim it
is not their problem. Any suggestions?

If the PC is behind a firewall/router its possible port forwarding is not
working correctly particularly if you reboot the PC...
