Remote Desktop will not log on

I practiced with my home computer and my home desktop and was able to
use Windows XP remote desktop just fine. My sister lives 5 hours away
and needs help with her computer - so we tried to set up remove
desktop so I could control it and see what she's seeing. We set it up
the same as my home computer, but it won't let me log on. I can see
her sign on screen, but when I put in the user name and password, it
tells me it's incorrect. I had her create a brand new administrator
level account with a password - but that did not help. She does not
believe she has a firewall. She set the security settings and remote
desktop settings. The only thing I can think of that is different is
she has Windows XP Media Edition. Any ideas?

If you get to the logon screen.. and then get an "incorrect
username/password" message - Then your problem is user related.
Have her change the admin user password to something extraordinarily simple
and short (the one you are trying to use.)
Make sure to specify "all lowercase" or whatever. Just in case she might be
pressing SHIFT on the first character out of habit.
Have her reboot as well - after this - and not logon.

You could also just use Remote Assistance instead of Remote Desktop - that
way she can SEE what you are doing and perhaps learn something. +)
