Remote desktop disconnects

Kevin

After installing this update (Security Update for
Microsoft Data Access Components (KB832483)) on my
windows xp machine whenever I connect to it remotely I
get a message stating that the remote desktop connection
was ended by an administration tool on the remote machine
after so much time elapses of innactivity on the remote
computer. I did a system restore to the point just before
this update and tried it again and this no longer
happened. I then installed the update again and it
started happening again. So I then restored to the point
just before the update once more to be thoroughly sure
this was the problem and the problem no longer existed. I
then again installed the update, and the problem
returned. If anyone has any ideas or has seent this
happen and knows of a fix for it please let me know by
email me back or posting a reply to this message.

Kevin - I hope you know about Swen, and how it harvests newsgroup posts.

You've got an obvious possible bug in a security update. Microsoft wants to
talk to you, 'cause there may be a whole lot more folks in your shoes.

They'll talk to you regardless of where you bought your XP--OEM/retail
doesn't matter, although they reserve the right to turn you back to the OEM
at their discretion.

1-866-pcsafety in the US and Canada.

Elsewhere, call your local Microsoft subsidiary.

This is for real--you can talk directly to Microsoft about issues with
security patches or viruses, for free.

Let us know how it comes out?
