Remote Desktop Disconnected

I have at home an Internet connection using Cables
platform, and the Motorola SB5100 modem. Working on
Windows XP.
I use the Remote Desktop Connection to connect (using
VPN) to the server at work.
The connection is established in a second and I can start
working.
The problem is that after a short period of time (under 10
minutes) the connection is lost and a "Remote Desktop
Disconnected" error appears.
The server at work shows that the reason is not related to
the work server side.
Can it be related to packet sizes? How can I solve this ?

This happend to me as well but only when I connect to a
certain network. Other networks work fine so it might be
packet/bandwidth related.
