ReInstall IE6

I'm having trouble with just some sites - they simply refuse to load. I've
done all the MS stuff, spyware, adware, every setting imaginable in IE.
Have also reinstalled Win XP but- no joy.

I have the ie6setup.exe, but it won't run because I have a (screwed up)
version already installed.
I notice IE doesn't even appear in CP/Add-Delete

What 's next??? This is very frustrating!!

Some web page designers do not create pages that are friendly with Internet
Explorer. This could be the problem in your case. Go to the IE website and
enter "repair internet explorer" in the search applet.

Thank you Kevin - that gets the best website I've seen yet for such a
problem -

The register trick is neat - it worked fine, but still didn't let me get on
the site where I seem to be having the problem (www.kohls.com - a large
department store chain in Wisconsinn They have many other sites, but this
is the main shopping site.)

BUT - my comp doesn't like the ie6setup.exe file. It downloaded OK, but
hangs at 99% (or sooner on the next try) when I try to run it. I get the
error message about incorrect logo.

BTW, when I go to kohls, I get redirected to another site. When you click
on that, the bottom line on the screen which shows the site it's looking for
says it is searching for a "shortcut' the www.kohls.com. I have done very
deep searches for other/older/shortcut/etc references to 'Kohls' which the
comp may be using, and have cleaned them all out - even including the
register.

FWIW, I have a WIN98SE (guest) comp crossover cabled to the XP (host) in
question, and it accesses the kohls site just fine, although through the
redirect page. The XP uses a Norton firewall and AV, but I've tried every
combination of settings ob both, including OFF, but no joy.

What to do?
Any further thoughts?

Kevin - an update.

Finally got the full install (I guess) but no joy on www.kohls.com.

Also, looks like I'm in a loop on startup - wants to continue the "previous
install" which was in progress at the last shutdown. How can I stop that as
well?
