can access hotmail in IE6

For some reason i cant view http://www.hotmail.com, so i
cant access any hotmail emails.
All i get once typed in the url, is a white screen. The
status bar says done. but nothing on screen.
Another problem i came across was a java popup didnt work.
the link to the popup opens nothing.
I have tested this in Netscape and the java popups work.
and so does hotmail.
I have tried to uninstall IE6 using Add/Remove Windows
Installed Components. but this didnt delete IE from my hard
drive! which means when i tried to reinstall the
ie6setup.exe it says i already have a newer version on IE
on my system and aborts instalation!! help anyone!
