Guest

I have tried to reinstall IE6 with sp2 but when I download the IE6 and then
try to do the set up it states it has detected a newer version of IE 6
already installed setup cannot continure. My main problem is error with
ybrowser and they told me it was the IE causing it. Is there a way to
reinstall IE6 without trying to start over. guess XP would have to be
reinstalled also. I'm not to up to date on this stuff hope someone can help
me.

Hi SP2 help :)

First, please post here what the original problem was with the browser, as
it may provide helpful information.

You might also try the following and see if it helps:

Then re-install IE - Go to Start/Run, and type :

%windir%\inf\ie.inf"

What problem? Do you have SBC/Yahoo software installed? Who told you IE
was causing the problem?

If the machine is infested with hijackware (as CrystalBall© is telling me),
reinstalling IE won't help since hijackware infects the Operating System
(Windows), not IE.

When all else fails, HijackThis v1.99.1
(http://aumha.net/downloads/hijackthis.zip) is the preferred tool to use.
It will help you to both identify and remove any hijackware/spyware. **Post
