Registry Help!

I had to reinstall XP Home on a laptop when it wouldn't get past the Welcome
screen. I have since had to reinstall Office and am attempting to reinstall
MS Project but the OS thinks the old copy is still there. I deleted the
registry entry for MS Project hoping that would "clean it out"; it still
thinks its installed. Any suggestions? I am having the same issue with
Norton AV.

You did a Repair install and not a clean install of XP. A "clean" install of
XP will format your harddrive and leave no remnants of previous apps.

Even the simplest program will have more than one registry entry. Get the
Windows Installer CleanUp Utility.

• Provide a dialog box where you can select one or more programs that were
installed by Windows Installer. You select the programs on the Installed
Products list in the Windows Installer CleanUp dialog box. After you make
this selection, the utility removes only the Windows Installer configuration
information that is related to those programs.

configuration information for programs that you select. ]]
