How to uninstall Symantec

T

Tony Carrigan

Having problems with Norton Internet Security 2005 on XP Pro:

The LiveUpdate feature was not working. After exploring various options
from the Symantec support website I tried to uninstall NIS but it wouldn't
let me.

Eventually I deleted the Norton application files and removed the
'Uninstall' registry entries but even then when I try to reinstall NIS it
still thinks there is an old copy there and tries to remove it and falls
over.

Does anyone know how I can completely remove this application, so that I
can then reinstall it cleanly...?

(After this I'll make sure I use the System Restore feature - create
checkpoints etc...!)
