this message comes up every time I boot, with a request
for credit card and pin number. How can I get rid of the
request. Is it legit???

no i dont think it is legit, ms would never ask for card number, you have
probably got spy/adware, try installing adware and try this scan, DONT ENTER
ANY CARD DETAILS

Scan for malware. Download these programs. After installing update
them, then boot into safe mode and run them. You should update and run
them weekly.
