I've had my computer for quite a while and have registered XP HOME with
Microsoft and have activated my version of windows XP. Now, just recently,
every time I start my computer a window comes up as "Windows Activation" and
my XP will not start until I fill out the activation window and registration
with Microsoft. All looks and reads as if it's legit. How can I resolve
this? The wife is getting pissed!

Reboot to Safe Mode:
Reboot tapping F8 each second.
Select Safe Mode at the menu

Start/Run
Type "regsvr32.exe regwizc.dll" ENTER
Type "regsvr32.exe licdll.dll" ENTER

Reboot.
Activate again
Reboot

For info, I also asked this question under "bubajunior". Got mixed up.

Thanks for the info. FYI, after safe mode and your instructions, I had to
retype them in normal mode before the window would not come up. I know XP
and Microsoft are picky, but geeze, that's going a bit past picky. Again,
thank you and have a wonderful holiday. Thought and Light.

It's your time. Why would Microsoft care how much of it they waste?
