Recurring Appt & Deleted Items

Using Outlook 2002 - If I delete just an occurrence of a recurring
appointment, it does not show up in Deleted Items, but if I delete the whole
series, it does go to Deleted Items. Is there a way to get the deleted
occurrence to go to Deleted Items or is this just by design that it's like
this?

By design - you are not deleting the appointment, just the recurrence.

After furious head scratching, Missy asked:
