I have a thinkpad with Win2K factory installed and hence
no setup disks or cd. How can I create setup disks or a
recovery CD so that I can enter recovery console and fix
the MBR?

I think you should contact IBM and ask them.

Installing the RC requires the source medium (or copy of same) and
preferrably one that has been slipstream-updated with the current
Service Pack.

The RC can be run from the orignal CD without installing it to the hard
drive (if you had it).
