Receiving Emails

Manny

I’m a bit confused as to the time frame on receiving emails through Windows
Mail.I know when you are receiving an email that contains a lot of
information it usually takes a couple of minutes to receive it.
However, for me I always have to refresh my inbox or else I would not know
that I have received an email no matter how big it is.

Can anyone help with this?
Thanks

Windows Mail will download email in two ways, either manually or automatically.
Manual download happens when you click the "Send/Recv" button.
Auto-download is controlled by this setting:
Tools, Options, on the General tab: "Check for new messages every xx minutes".
The checking interval should not be less than 5 minutes, because some slower
servers need time to clean up and reset the mailbox on the server.
