rebuilding computers software from scratch

PLEASE HELP! I have a pc that is completely clean I need
to know what I have to do to be able to load windows onto
it I appreciate that I need a disk. At the moment when I
turn the pc on its just a plain black screen so anyone
who can help me from here I would be very grateful. Do I
need to load dos onto it some how? or will windows xp
just load automatically ?
Any help would be great

If you have Windows XP CD, that CD is bootable. You need to make sure that
your BIOS is configured to boot from CD first.
