Hi, we brought 14 Compaq pc's. When using system recovery the Administrators
password is asked for. Entering the password returns an invalid message.
Pressing enter (blank password), returns an invalid message.
I have set the administrators password when setting up the machines. But
this password is not valid whilst using system recovery, but works for
everything else after logging in to windows using the administrator account.
We have the Compaq restore disks, but some of the problems, are not so
severe to warrant a full reinstall. By changing the local security policy,
to enable automatic administrative logon. I can then use system recovery.
Compaq have obviously used a password to install the software, but when I
rang the support centre, they could not tell me what the password was!
AAAHHHH!
I don't like the idea of having automatic administrative logon, so is there
a way to find out what the password used, is?
