Hi,

Lately I can't use the RealPlayer. I have tried un-installing and
re-installing many times. It installs o.k., but when it tries to play
the first time and everytime it freeze's WinXP. I never get an error
message.

I have an AMD Athlon 2100 CPU, on a Giga-Byte GA-7VAX motherboard that
uses the VIA KT400 Chipset, with the VIA AC'97 Audio. I have the
Nvidia Geforce 4 MX 440 with AGP 8X. I'm using WinXP Pro.

All of my drivers are current. I have tried the few troubleshooting
solutions that I found on the RealAudio website. So far nothing has
worked.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
David

Open your RealOne Player and from its Toolbar select:
Tools > Preferences > Hardware (category).

Move the "Video Card Compatibility" slider to
"Most Reliable" (all the way to the left).

You can play with this setting until you achieve the best
video performance.

Have you updated to the latest VIA drivers?

Real Audio / Real Player, are what I consider system intrusive software, but
it sounds like your sound drivers are corrupt.

Hi
Thanks for the reply, trouble is, the computer freeze's before the
player completly opens.
Thanks,
David

Try uninstalling RealPlayer and reinstalling it, then. Does your sound
and video work well with other types of streaming media using, say,
Windows Media Player and/or Quicktime?
