re-initiate screensaver

Does anyone know of a way to re-initiate the service or process which
runs the screensaver. I need to be able to do this from a script. I
thought it was the scheduler, but stopping and starting the schedule
service didn't do it.

Any help is greatly appreciated
 
FWIW, the screen-saver and locking the computer are two separate processes.
