Screensaver problem

The past few days I've been having a problem. I like to leave my
computer on at night to run virus scans and complete downloads while I
sleep. The past few days I've noticed in the morning that a
screensaver is on, even though I have always had it disabled, and when
I exit the screensaver all programs that had been running are no longer
doing so. I've double checked to make sure the screensaver is turned
off, and it is. I'm not sure how long it takes before it comes on
since it always happens when I'm asleep, but I didn't touch it for 2
hours the other day and the screensaver never started, but that night
when I was asleep it started again shutting down all programs in the
process. The only thing that has changed in the past few days is that
I installed XP Service Pack 2, but I haven't been able to find any info
on this happening to anybody else.

If anybody has any ideas I would really appreciate some help.

Is there a functioning firewall that has been programmed to allow all
the downloads from trusted sites or is the computer naked while you are
asleep?

Well there is a firewall, but it was supposed to allow downloads fro
the program I was using. However last night I decided to try and tur
the firewall off just to see if that was the problem, and this mornin
everything was fine, the screensaver didn't start. I would like not t
have to leave the computer naked though

What screen saver starts on its own?

Ah, it's titled "logon.scr". I wonder if it would help to rename the
file so it isn't found.. Someone here should know why it starts..
possibly it's because you have the power settings set to "Prompt for
password after returning from standby".

Yeah, the prompt for password after standby was checked, I unchecke
it, and I'll see later on tonight if that has anything to do with it.
Thanks Jo
