RDP 5 doesn't "remember" passwords on W9x

We used to configure RDP 4 clients for auto connection
with an embedded password. As far as we know RDP 5 works
on W9X just fine except for the password remembering. The
check box appears greyed out. That does not occur on W2K
or XP. Any ideas? Workarounds?

This is by design. The method used to encrypt the stored password is
not available on W9x or NT4. You need W2K or XP for this.

Thank you, Vera. I read about the missing encryption
mechanism, but it's a pity we cannot choose...we are
publishing apps using their own security schema and
usernames are just used to map printers. We didn't want to
force the user to logon twice, even the password is a
trivial passwd.
