RDC on XP Home Ed?

I have Win XP Pro on my home machine. My father runs XP Home.
Can I install Remote Desktop Connection on his machine without the
need of an XP Pro upgrade? It would save me a lot of time back &
forth for resolving issues.

No, you can't. You would have to use alternative products
such as WinVNC. Although it is slower than Remote Desktop,
it has the advantage that both you and your father can operate
his PC at the same time.

Sorry but the answer is no. XP Home Edition can only be the client but only
XP Professional Edition can be both the server and the client. However, like
the other techie said, you can use WinVNC to connect to your XP Home
desktop. It is a freeware so you don't have to pay a thing. I use it at work
and it works like a charm.
