RDC Won't connect to WIN XP Pro!

I have a workstation (XP Pro SP2) that sits behind Small Business Server
2003 Premium (ISA 2004). I am trying to do a Remote Desktop Connection away
from my SBS network to another WIN XP Pro machine that is not on the SBS
domain but is on another network. I can successfully connect using a dialup
connection to the remote machine but when I'm using my Ethernet card and
attached to the SBS network the workstation that I using to attempt to
connect to the remote machine will end up at a logon screen for the SBS
machine. I have also connected the workstation directly to the router that
SBS is normally connected to and attempted a RDC. When I try it that way the
logon screen of my machine immediately displays and says to check the
password and domain name and try again. My ISP says that there are no ports
being blocked outbound. There are ports being forwarded to my SBS machine to
allow me to use Remote Web Workplace, Outlook Web Access as well as Remote
Desktop to workstations on my SBS domain.

It seems like my workstation cannot see the remote machine when connected
directly to my router or my SBS network. When trying to connect I use the
Remote XP machines public address in the Computer: box (the same as when I
dial out) and then enter username/password with Domain: left blank. I've
also logged on to a local workstation account with the same results when
connected directly to the router.

It just appears that the communication is not getting out of the router for
the RDC part but I have no way to know that for sure. I can browse the
Internet so those requests are making it out.

If there are any suggestions I am all ears!!

Thanks
Jeff

Are you sure the ISA firewall is not blocking outgoing Remote Desktop
requests? I would post to the...

microsoft.public.isa

....or...

microsoft.public.windows.server.sbs

....news groups for help with that...

I have a rule in ISA (or I should say when I ran the Connect to E-Mail
Internet Wizard) a rule was placed in ISA to allow Outbound/Inbound RDP
connections. But ISA should not have any effect when I'm bypassing it and
plugging directly into my ISP's router. I also logged in to a local computer
account to remove any ISA or Group Policy settings that may be causing it
and still could not RDC. I am going to "borrow a friends DSL connection" and
see what happens with it. That should rule out my PC. It could be that my
ISP is overlooking something on his network that he has not thought of. I'm
just running out of places to look!

Thanks for your assistance.
