Raw Image thumbnailer

can anybody help? i cannot view my raw images with this program. I have all
the required updates needed for this program but it still doesnt work.
I have a canon eos 20d and transfer the images onto my computer via
photoshop, but when i want to view them nothing happens.
Anybody out there help? or am i doing something wrong.

Can you view them in PhotoShop?

Does PhotoShop convert them to a
proprietary format?

And....I'm just wondering...why don't
you download them directly to a folder
on your hard drive?
