Thumbnails and MOV files

Gaston

I am on Windows XP 5.1, service pack 3. I have a Canon SD450 digital camera
that produces AVI files for video clips. When I view the AVI files as
thumbnails in My Pictures folder, the first image of the video clip appears
on the thumbnail. So far so good.

I also have a Canon SD880 camera that produces MOV files for video clips (I
guess it is a Quick Time Movie file). When I view these files as thumbnails,
the first image of the video does not appear on the thumbnail. Instead, the
word "movie" appears on the thumbnail. How can I get the image from the
video to appear? Thx

No guarantees...but here's some info that worked for me...

Good luck...

Display .mov thumbnails in Windows XP
http://ddhr.org/2008/03/13/display-mov-thumbnails-in-windows-xp/

Download Quickthumb.dll from the following link:
http://www.ocf.berkeley.edu/~mbarrien/projects/

The two files: msvcr70.dll and QuickThumb.dll
must be placed in your C:\Windows\System32 folder

Then run the following command...

File / Run...regsvr32 QuickThumb.dll

Sorry...I don't know why I wrote...File / Run...

The correct steps are...Start button / Run /

Type (or copy/paste)... regsvr32 QuickThumb.dll ...
(there's a space between the 2 and the Q)

Press...Enter...

You should see a dialog box that says:
DllRegisterServer in QuickThumb.dll succeeded
