RAID 5 Failed Drive

Hi all;

I got a MS software RAID-5 setup and on of the drives failed. I would have
set it up with Hardware RAID-5 but did not make that original decision.
Anyway here is my predicament.

1.) Have 4 (ultra 3 scsi) drives the same size. Disk 0 is the boot patition
(\winnt).
Disks 1-3 are the Software RAID-5. One disk(disk 1) failed so now I am
under a "Failed Redundany" condition.

2.) I put in another disk "not the same size" but very close/slightly
smaller, like a one model off type.

3.) Can only make it a dynamic unallocated disk and CANNOT rejoin the other
two to recreate the RAID. No option for regenerate or reactivate.

Please correct me if I am wrong, but since this drive is so smaller, I
cannot "RAID" it with the other 2 because of the size differential. I'm
assuming if it was larger I could partition it to the correct size of
unallocated space matching the other two drive sizes.

Thanks in advance.

A replacement drive must be equal to or larger than the drive being replaced.
