My brother has a PC with Win XP sp2. It works well but after one hour or so,
it hangs! What could be the reason?

Should I run System Tools - Disk Cleanup and Disk Defragmenter and if so, in
what sequence - I mean which one first?

Thanking you

Adding to the Good advice of Senthil vel, try to look in the Event Viewer
for Error messages that shed some lights on the cause if any.
To access the Event Viewer do the following:
Open a run Command and type in:
eventvwr click [OK] and on the Event Viewer click/highlight these Folder
on the Left side of the window:
Application
System
Secuirty

Look in the Right pane/window for the error log and by double click the
Error you will get more info about the culprit and also you can copy and
paste in your next post.
Back to your Original Question it always best to cleanUp first and then Run
Defrag in Safe Mode.

Thank you for all the input. Yes, running the
eventvwr shows some ERRORS and some WARNINGS! What should be done with all
these?

I will do the Disk Cleanup and Disk Defragmenter(in safe mode) after I hear
from you.

Thanks in advance
