Dennis

I am having this very same problem and I have checked all
of these things but I thought it might help you is so let
me know.

You can try a risetup -check to verify the config...

There might also be a path error in the registry for the
tfptd server,
see this article for more info...

Also check that your dhcp is working correct by firing up
network
monitor and capture the package to the client. You should
se some
packets with the path to startrom.com in them.

Here is a good article about DHCP and RIS

Is your RIS server running on the same computer as your DHCP server? If
yes, please ensure that DHCP option 060 (PXEClient) is added to your DHCP
scope. Normally, this option is added automatically when you install RIS
providing, of course, that you install DHCP server prior to installing RIS.

Something else I did today also produced the PXE-E53 error:

My RIS server also runs IIS for SUS, everything worked perfectly. I added a
second IP address to the NIC so I could host another website on the server
and then I picked up the PXE-E53 error. Removed the 2nd IP address and
everything worked perfectly again.
