PROPLUS.msi file missing. Need to help friend.

My friend is trying to install a service pack but it she keep getting
a cofiguring microsoft office xp professional with frontpage, then it
says cannot locate file insert disk microsoft office xp professional
with frontpage or search for PROPLUS.msi. PROPLUS.Msi is missing. Is
there any way of her getting this file or does she have to install XP
again? TIA

You did not mention which Service Pack you were referring to. Was it an
Office service pack?

"proplus.msi is the installation file used to install all office
PROfessional PLUS (yes ProPlus) services, hence Microsoft Service
Installation (yes, MSI). when you install office xp pro the msi file acts as
an organiser and delivers all the services (frontpage, excel, word etc) to
the directory you choose. But IT DOES NOT COPY ITSELF, therefore everytime
you upgrade or re-install the product the proplus.msi will ask for this
file. "

Bottom line: the system wants the Office disk.

with Office, you have to have the original cd (or the files off of it) to
install the service packs. Just put the original office CD in the drive,
then the update will work fine...
