I have been with Yahoo for a couple of years now. It has always been free and I don't know anything about Yahoo Plus - it must be something new. I use Outlook Express for emails and use the settings as described before.

Let's try to begin with the basics.

Which mail programme are you using? Outlook, Outlook Express or some other?

Are you signed up with Yahoo and do you have an email address?

Ahhhh !! Vista is not something I know a lot about still being on XP.
Anyway have you checked in Control Panel > Internet Options > Programs. What is the setting in Email ?

By the way I think ppl means people.

SMTP is port 25 - unless the provider specifies otherwise.
POP3 is port 110 - ditto

others:
IMAP - port 143
Secure SMTP (SSMTP) - port 465
Secure IMAP (IMAP4-SSL) - port 585
IMAP4 over SSL (IMAPS) - port 993
Secure POP3 (SSL-POP) - port 995

where?
