program not responding aftersuccessful CDRW write

does this sound familiar to anyone? After writing successfully, my LITE-ON
LTR 24102B using Microsoft facility via the Wizard, the program fails to
respond. The only way I have found of recovery is using Task Manager to end
process - this clears the whole screen which then repaints without the cd dis
contents on display. I have tried installing Nero 5 which works fine. I
therefore suspect that the Microsoft program is at fault? I am using Win XP
Home fully patched on an FIC AD11 [Athlon 1.4G] Any pointers to rsolution?

Yes SP2 plus any Windows Update recommendations have all been installed
