save to notepad gets program not responding

How can I scan a form (that I need to fill out) to Microsoft Word Processor or the notebook so I can type it in insteadof using my poor handwriting? when I click on send to notebook,the program does not respond and a error report is sent. When I click on send to microsoft Word processor itsays cannot open
 
Sounds like the OCR software is not loaded. Optical
Character Recognition.

Scanning creates an image file, not a text file. To convert an image
file to text, you need Optical Character Reader (OCR) software. I
don't know how well it works on forms. Search Google for OCR software.
