A. Are there any clues in Event Viewer? Start>Run>eventvwr.msc [enter]

B. The First Question Of Troubleshooting: what changed between the time
things worked and the time they didn't?

C. Test the hard drives with a diagnostic utility. Either download the
utility from the drive mftrs.' websites or use Seagate's SeaTools
Desktop. You will create a bootable CD or floppy with the file you
download. You need third-party burning software to create the CD; the
built-in burning capability that comes with XP will not do it. Boot with
the media you created and do a thorough test of both drives. If there
are any physical failures, replace the drive(s).

First of all, thank you! I was using RecordNow to burn CDs. It stopped
working. I could go to task manager & it was there. I would end the process.
I uninstalled it & reloaded but no good. Next, I just recently got back on
the internet. So I downloaded all the updates from Microsoft. have automatic
updates turned on. Then I downloaded Windows Live toolbar. Everything seemed
to get worse. Uninstalled Windows toolbar. Still no good. I didn't know about
event viewer, sorry. I haven't investigated yet but did see about application
hang ups. Any gues why RecordNow wouldn't show any interface. It was hiding
in Task Manager but couldn't use it.

Again thank you very much.

No, sorry. Too many factors and you need to narrow down the
troubleshooting. You need to look in Event Viewer as I suggested and
also do some hardware testing as I suggested.
