Generally when downloading a program from a CD-ROM the program is stored on
your hard drive, but I had a CD that I had to go to "My Computer" and drag it
from my CD/DVD drive to my desktop. It is working but where is it being
stored? It does not appear on my "program" list . Just curious!

Probably in a hidden folder on the Desktop, open Documents > Organize >
Folder and Search Options > View (tab) > under 'Advance Settings:" select
'Show hidden files and folders'. > click OK.

I'm not sure I understand that statement. Are you using the word
"download" to mean "install"? If so, be aware that they are two
different words, with *very* different meanings. "Download" doesn't
mean anything like "install." It means to transfer a file from
someplace else (usually on the internet) to your computer.

Didn't you just tell us that. You said you put it on the desktop;
that's where it's stored (not a very good place for it, in my view).
Why did you have to do that?

Or am I misunderstanding you again?

It does not appear on my "program" list .

No, that shouldn't be surprising. Usually (but not always) when you
install a program properly, the install routine creates a shortcut in
Programs. Since you never installed it, there was no way it could have
gotten there.

yes i meant install instead of download

OK. That's clearer now.

If I am correct the software program

What program is this?

should of identified "C- drive"
and put the program in there,

In general, it puts it where you tell it to--not necessarily C:,
although normally the default is to the Program Files folder on C:.

but when it did not

Exactly what *did* it do? Exactly what happened when you tried to
install it?

I called tech support for the software company and
this is how he told me to do it(that is drag the program
to my desktop) How do I get it to my hard drive?

It *is* on the hard drive. There's no place else it could be. The
desktop is just a special place (a folder) on the hard drive called
"desktop."

What are you trying to accomplish? Why? Is something not working
properly?
