W7 memory issue and Why no w7 newsgroup in Microsoft Communities?

So where do I post questions? Not the hard-to-use forums, please.

I'm trying to do the in-place upgrade - Vista Home Premium to W7 Home
Premium. It says:
--------------------------
"The following issues are preventing Windows from upgrading. Cancel the
upgrade, complete each task, and then restart the upgrade to continue.

There is not enough free space to store temporary Windows installation
files. Try using Disk Cleanup, uninstall old programs, or move files to an
external location such as a CD, DVD, or external hard drive. "
--------------------------
I just installed a new 320 gb hard drive and restored Vista on it. It works
perfectly. 220 drive C: and about 80 gb D: so there should be no problem I
checked each drive's properties to make sure each had much unused space - I
came from an 80 gb disk.

Ideas, anyone? TIA, Paul

Try right-clicking Setup.exe > Properties > Compatibility tab and select Vista.
I had to do that a couple of times during the beta run.

Err People ask about Windows 7 and they get a link to the ONLY Microsoft-run
forum for Windows 7. How is that being like a spam bot?

When the person says "I don't want the forums" and they get a link to
the forums. It shows the person isn't reading the OP's post.
