Profile Does Not Recognize the Outlook Address Book Service

cannot add address book in 2003...when navigating to Properties under
Contacts, the 'Show This Folder as an E-mail Address Book' Is Dimmed. How do
I re-install this service????

If I go into Tools | Email Accounts | Add new Directory or address book and
choose Outlook address book, i recv "The account you have added is not fully
configured. It might now work properly until re-configured correctly."

That means you have not yet configured your profile to connect to any data
(i.e., either an Exchange mailbox or an Outlook Data file [PST file]).
How did you configure this profile?

this was setup as a normal outlook user...no exhange server or anything
special...i can add additional ldap servers though...rest of email settings
seem to be working properly...
anyway to 're-activate' this?

I asked how you configured this profile: what transports and what data file?

Transport = Mail Account type
You must have at least one transport to provide a connection to your data
file.

this is standard pop3 account. everything else works (sending, recvng,).
this account is also attached to an LDAP directory, which IS working.

Then the profile might be corrupt. It appears not to be able to recognize
your data file correctly.
Have you created a new profile?
