Problems with setting default email

I have set my default email to Windows Mail yet when I am on the internet
and wish to reply via an email link there, MS Outlook comes up. I don't
want to use Outlook (ever) for my email. How can I stop it from coming up
when I am responding via email while on the internet?

Make sure that Windows Mail has all of the email defaults.
Check to see by clicking on
"Start" - "Default Programs" - "Set your default programs"
highlight "Windows Mail", then click on "Choose defaults for this
program".
click on "Select all" to make sure the MAILTO is selected
click on "Save"

Did you try in Internet Exploring going to:
Tools-->Options-->Programs and set up default application to process emails?

In addition in Vista you can goto ControlPanel-->Setup Default Programs (or
just 'Programs" or somethign to that effect), but from Internet Explorer in
Vista I think this is where you'll end up anyway (in COntrol Panel applet)

If you don't use Outlook, ever, uninstall it.
Every time Office is updated via Windows Update, Outlook will set itself as
default mail client, so uninstall it.
