Problems with Konica KD-400Z and WinXP

Hi,

I am trying to help out a friend who has a new PC and a Konica KD-400Z
digital Camera.
The problem is that when the Camera is plugged into the USB port on the PC
it shows as an unrecgnised device and it is not possible to download any
pictures from the camera.
I have already tried this on both of my PC's running WinXP Home & WinXP Pro
and it works on both of these so I am assuming that it is something related
to the PC itself.

Has anyone else experienced any problems like this with this camera or got
any advice on where to look for further assistance.

P.s. Konico don't provide any drivers etc for this camera as it is supposed
to work OOTB with WinXP.

Thanks in advance for any assitance.

Hi,

I am facing an almost similar problem with my Konica KD-
20M digital still camera. It worked when I first plugged
it into the USB 2.0 port but during the 2nd time, my son
unplugged the USB cable from the camera end just as I was
about to delete the shots after transfering them onto the
PC. The I had problems recognising the device on the USB
ports, I have 2 USB 2.0 on my Fujitsu P5010 and I USB 1.1
on Thinkpad T600E. It is not working on both machines. I
am getting the error message: USB device is not working
properly or completely no recognition when connected. I
downloaded DirectX 9.0a and Windows Media 9, as suggested
by WIn XP help and support center but still got the same
message.

Appreciate any pointers. Thanks.

Hi,

I've also got the same problem with Windows putting up a message that
the device has malfunctioned and won't recognise it.

Works fine on other PC's running Win Me and 2000.

Microsoft support helpfully suggested I contact the PC supplier as
Windows was bought OEM. No reply yet from Mesh or from Konica.

If anyone knows how to fix this I would be grateful as I've tried
everything I can think of.

Thanks, Ken
