Problems with extraction wizard

I am having problems with the extraction wizard not wanting to extract zip
files and becoming unresonsive. this would not be to big of a problem but it
wont let me install software or games. anyone know how to fix this? keep in
mind that this is a new install with only windows sp2+intalled.

How big are these files? Windows zip support doesn't handle large zip
files very well. You might try a third-party tool such as Ultimate
Zip.

most are small such as battlefield 2 maps on the intallation disc, this isnt
a size issue, everything that im trying to unzip are in intallation files on
software discs that windows should have no problem installing.
