Problems with Earthlink Accelerator and Installer

Problem: Every time I try to open a folder, be it from my desktop,
start menu or Explorer, the Installer box comes up for Earthlink
Accelerator. I must click cancel at least 3 times to kill it. If you
let it run "the file you are trying to access is on a removable device"
comes up. Once the box is killed by cancelling, instead of the folder
you wanted it comes up with a Search Window (no results in the window).
I am running WindowsXP Home with SP2.

I have removed installer, have reloaded installer, have reloaded
Earthlink, have re-uninstalled Earthlink. Still comes up. Anybody have
a sloution? I am decent with computers but not really experienced with
Reg tampering, etc.

If you own a Japanese motorcycle, you are more likely to learn the
appropriate crank-shaft torque from other owners of Japanese motorcycles
than you are from owners of American made motorcycles.

Similarly, you are more likely to learn the appropriate fix for your
EarthLink problem from other EarthLink users than from Windows XP Help and
Support users.

I am sure you are correct. However, I am not trying to get help with
the Earthlink. Earthlink has been uninstalled from my computer. I
wondering if someone could help me with the problem of WINDOWS
INSTALLER popping up and then redirecting to a WINDOWS EXPLORER search
window. If you think that this is exclusively a problem with an
incomplete uninstall of my Earthlink program, is there something in
WINDOWS XP that I could do about it? I do not care about Earthlink
Acelerator and have no desire to try to run it. I have already
contacted Earthlink and several other support groups about it, and
followed their recommendations. I currently have WINDOWS INSTALLER
uninstalled, which fixes the problem of having to click, but WINDOWS
INSTALLER still flashes up when I try to open a folder and if I click
on a subfloder it still redirects me to a WINODOWS EXPLORER search
window. I actually scanned several pages of back posts that I thought
may help my problem. I have seen you help others with problems of
incompletely uninstalled programs. So if all you 'geniuses' are unable
to help me because you think I am retardedly asking the wrong question,
or just retarded, just say so. Or ask for clarification. Don't ****ing
condescend to someone who has really tried to help themself before
irritating you with their insignificant question.

I am sure you are correct. I see how my topic line is misleading. Did
you read the rest of the message? Perhaps the understanding of it was
colored by the interpretation of the topic. However, I am not trying to
