Problems Removing Norton Symantec software

I am having serious problems removing the LiveReg (Symantec Corporation) and
the Norton WMI Update from the control pannel Add/Remove programs.

When I try to remove these intalled items the program yields an error
message indicating there are still some Norton programs that require the item
installed.

I looked all over and I could not find any installed Norton programs. Is
there any way to force these programs to uninstall?

I'm just an end user like you but I've been in your place. Depending on
the operating system you have and the version of Norton you're using
will qualify where you need to go for answers on the Norton site.

If you do a google search, put in as follows: "manually remove""Norton
_____""Windows XP" (I'm assuming it's XP because you're on this forum.)

From that search, you will get options. Look down the options and pick
the one that matches your search and also make sure that you use
Norton's site rather than other's giving you advice. Norton has pages
on it's site that one can go to for details on how to manually remove
it's programs. Just remember to make sure you've got the right program
in relationship to the right Windows program (or Mac, if that is what
you have).

You probably still have Norton Anti-virus or Utilities activating at boot time.
You'll need to disable them first to completely delete all Norton activities.
Start>Run>type MSCONFIG>startup tab
Now disable all programs associated with Norton>Close>Reboot.
You should be able to uninstall any program related to Norton now.
You can also the same thing in Safe Mode.
