Problems opening Outlook 2003

I click on the office outlook 2003, it says "configuring outlook accounts",
then I get the message, "your microsoft exchange server is unavailable" (
retry, work offline, cancel). I try the work offline tab then a box comes up
saying, " unable to open your default email folders, your profile is not
configured. I try to configure my profile and something i am doing is not
right. Please help. What do I do? Thank you for your help with this
problem.

After furious head scratching, Keith asked:
