Problems installing DeskJet printers in XP

E

Edgar Garduno

Hi,

I have a DeskJet 830C that I want to connect to my
machine. However, when I tried to install it I cannot find
the driver in Windows XP. Based on the article 293378 of
the KB this printer is included already in Windows XP. I
have tried to manually install new hardware and listing
all the devices, but I cannot find the printer either. Any
ideas?

By the way, I updated to SP1a and installed the security
patches in windows Update.

Thanks!

normally if you buy a new printer it should come with his
original CD with it. if there is none then get the name,
the series and anyother thing about the printer ant try
and download the driver from the net. That should solve
the problem or you try get the main CD for it for easy
installation ok?

Sounds to me like it may be a hardware problem. Does
windows detect your printer at all? If not, if you have
another printer cable, switch it with the one you have
already used.
