Found new hardware

Every time I switch on to my Printer Deskjet 710C printer I get “found
new hardware” and the system starts to install the driver. I have to
cancel the operation. This is bothersome. I have made this printer as
the default printer. It prints OK. Once agreed to install the printer
again and that made a copy in the Printers and Faxes folder by the name
HD DeskJet 710C (copy). After that "found new hardware" stopped but at
the cost of printing speed. Removed the first HP DeskJet 710C from the
folder and the printer does not work.
It may be added here that I have installed All In One (copy-scan-print)
also and that works fine and is giving no such problem. This printer I
use for Scan/copy of documents and the other for general printing. There
is no Networking and this is a single PC that I am using.

I had this problem with a Samsung ML4500. is the 710C an old printer?
The solution with the Samsung was to download the drivers for a Lexmark 210,
unzip them to a folder and when the New Hardware wizard appears, point it at
that folder.
the irritation went away as soon as I connected the Samsung to a Print
server,........

Might be of some help?

Thanks for the suggestion. First I deleted the printer and then I
reinstalled the driver from the CD that came with the printer. AT
present it seems OK.
Thanks again.
