Have several clips on HD and would like to join into single movie. Must be missing something. Unable to get the combine feature to mate the 2 or more sections. Tried all the ways you can 'select all' in display pane and in the storyline/timeline. no luck. OBviously i am missing the important point somewhere. I think my laptop is laughing at me - way too many transitions and effects.

Ernie,

When you save the movie, all the things you have on the timeline are
'combined' into a video file.... Before that the combine feature is meant to
simply re-join two clips that you had previously split.

The combine feature of Movie Maker only allows you to "Combine" clips that
are adjacent to each other in the original source video. It basically the
complement to the "Split" feature.

To "Combine" several video files into one new video file, you'll need to
place all the files you want onto the storyboard (or timeline) and use "Save
Movie File" to create a new video file that contains all of the others.

If all you want to do is simply watch the files back to back on your
machine.. another way to do this is to create a playlist in Windows Media
Player.
