Clips missing in saved files

HI

I have a few problems in Movie Maker i will list them as seperate posts,
just to keep the length down

First up my computer

ASUS F3JV Laptop
Core 2 Duo 2Ghz
1 Gig of ram
XP Pro Service pack 2
about 4 months old

Problem 1. Clips mising in Saved Movies

When i save movies some of the clips, used to make the movie, are missing
thier sound or just missing all together. So if that clip were to go for
10secs there would be 10 sec of nothing in its place.
eg in my current project the 4 clip always seems to have no sound, and the
5th clip is missing all together. Then from then on in no clips have sound
and other random clips are missing.
This some times happens when i play back the movie in the timeline as well,
but then when i stop playback, click on the timeline and start from part of
the way through one of the missing clips it, works fine again for a while.
Due to this i thought the problem was just in the preveiw and would not
replicate it's self in the saved file but it has.

Any help would be apreciated

What make and model of camcorder, although it is minidv.
How have you connected it to capture the movie, firewire?
Let's get answers from the other questions and see how it goes.
What happens if you capture as dv-avi, do you have the same problem?
