Send clip to end of timeline

Done

Hi everyone ...

I use movie maker to edit together lots of little 5 second clips of the
gymnasts I train to create training films they can look at to spot the flaws
in their technique. I usually have at least 100 clips after a training and I
sort them by hand so that each gymnast gets a section in the movie with just
their own skills (it easier to spot mistakes that way)

The thing is I do this by hand and it takes ages. If I could find a way to
send a clip to either the end or preferably the beginning of the timeline
with a single keystroke then it would be much much easier for me to sort
them. Does anyone have a good idea of how I could do this? it a sort of
"cut-and-paste-the-selected-clip-to-start-of-timeline-and-then-select-the-next-clip"
.... I know its a hard one but maybe using some sort of macro tool its
doable?? ...

When you drag/drop a clip on the Timeline...
place your pointer on the clip you wish to
replace.

IOW...if you want add a clip to the start
of the timeline...just place your pointer on
the first clip in the project before releasing
the mouse button.

FWIW...When creating a project with many
clips...the timeline can get very long. One
way to manage this is to press your Page Up
or Page Down keys to compress or expand
the view.

Hi John

First up - thanks for answering my post.

But I know how to position clips manually on my time line - I was looking
for a way to "send the selected clip to the end of the timeline". I wanted
it to be a hotkey kind of thing. That way I could have the timeline zoomed
as much as I wanted. Your idea of scaling down the timeline and using drag
drop is not bad though that way at least I don't have to use the slider at
the bottom so much ... hmn but a hotkey "send clip to end of timeline" is
really what I was looking for ...
