moving clips on timeline

hey im pretty new to movie maker but i have used imovies before so i pretty
much know wot i am doing..th problem is i cannot move my clips to where i
want them on the timeline. When i drag the clip to timeline it just puts the
clip right at the start of the timeline, even though i am dropping it at a
toally different place. Please can someone give me any information on how to
solve this

I am not certain I am following you but it sounds like you are trying to
have empty space between clips and you can't do this. It will put the first
clip at the beginning and subsequent clips next to each other without space
between them.
